Improving White Dyes

White dyes are useful for achieving certain color combinations via the subtraction method. For example, if you're trying to create a light yellow color, you can't just simply mix a good quality red with a good quality green; the two colors will average out, producing a rather drab olive color like you see on the right.

A different approach would be to take a good quality white dye and add a few low quality woads:

In this example, a 240-240-240 white was used as a base, to which five 1.0 quality woads were used to "improve" the dye, which decreased the blue component down to 158.

156 is as low as you can get a component using this method, as a 1 quality pigment creates a 156 RGB value for that color component.
