Searches
The FIND component allows you to quickly search for text in your web documents:
Type in a search term and press enter to find that text in your HTML file, Stylesheet, or Topic list. The search ignores case differences, so you can enter a term in all lower-case and it will find upper-case instances of that term.
Color Coding
The background of the search term is color-coded after each search to give you some useful information.
For example, a background of green lets you know that the search operation found the first occurrence of multiple instances.
A background of yellow tells you that the found text occurs multiple times, and that there is at least one previous occurrence and one subsequent occurrence of that text.
A background of red signifies that the last occurrence has been found. If you were to hit ENTER again, the search would restart from the beginning.
Sometimes you will see an orange background. This means that the text occurs only once in the entire file or topic list.
If you see a gray background, the search term does not exist anywhere in the document or topic list.
Each time you hit the ENTER key while the FIND component has focus, the search will proceed from the last point where something was found. This means that if you know that the item you are looking for is near the end of the document, but there are many occurrences before, you can initially search for a unique term you know to be just be just before the one you're seeking, then type in the one you really want. Thus, you can skip all the previous occurrences.
To reset the search to the beginning of the document, click on the "x" on the right-hand side of the component (when there is a search term present) and the next search will start from the beginning.
