Work Orders
When first starting out, one of the easiest ways earn money to buy equipment or resources is to fill work orders. Work orders will allow you to raise your skills while you earn cash.
In the starting village of Bridgeport, there is an area in the Cedar Bay Lodge office where you can books containing work orders, organized by difficulty. The first book you should check is the Starter Work Orders book. These are set up so that you do not need to transport any items; just go to the specified location and perform the work. Raw materials, if needed, will be provided there.
If you see a work order that appeals to you and agree to the payment offered, take that work order from the book so that no one else tries to fill it at the same time. Then follow the instructions to perform the work. Often, this will involve gathering or processing resources, then filling a crate with the product.
Once you complete a work order, you will submit it for payment by mailing it to the originator C.O.D. for the amount payable (see the How to Get Paid section.)
Farming Work Orders
When taking a farming work order, you will need to also to take the corresponding garden key from the small chest near the work order table. That key must be returned before the order is paid.
If this is your first attempt at farming crops, do a work order for the first garden. It has a few more tiles to plant, making it more likely that you can get a full harvest in one planting; also, the crops for that work order are usually easier to grow.
There is an extra crate in each garden available to put excess crops, or you may keep them for your own use if you like.
