The article linked on the right recounts the conspiracy and callous disregard for human safety that was part of the 3M executive culture that kept secret the potential damage their products were doing to the world.
Chemist Kris Hansen found evidence that people were being permanently contaminated with the chemicals, but was hushed up and convinced there were no health impacts as fortunes were being made.
This is a very interesting read from the multiple Pulitzer Prize winner ProPublica's investigative journalists.
